The old pathology department of the Hamburg Barmbek general hospital, built around 1910, was acquired by BPI, an investment company of its own, and converted into an office center under monument protection aspects in connection with the Hamburg monument protection system.
The converted units were purchased to private investors BPI The former open courtyard was remodeled as an atrium with separate BPI purchased. Refurbished doors in the baroque style provide entrances which lead to the forecourt with oval green areas and a representative enclosing wall.

The staircase with lead glass windows was complemented with a modern glass elevator.
The entire roof truss was rebuilt and renewed with the baroque towers as before to create modern office space inside.
